Puerto Arte

Project to mobilize the creative industry in Havana/Cuba and other areas.

With its workshops, studios, ateliers, offices, management, education facilities, etc., the Creative Village Puerto Arte will offer a unique infrastructure for creative talents that generates marketable economic goods from creative services with regional raw materials.
Puerto Arte will be coupled with a tourism module as a turnover booster.
The project is being driven forward in Cuba in a private-public partnership with the Ministry of Culture. Due to its high impact on the regional economy and population, it is also supported by many national and international organizations such as the UNDP, UNESCO, etc.
The creative economy is one of the fastest-growing markets in the world. There are regions in Latin America and Africa, for example, that do not benefit from this growth. Puerto Arte is scalable and multipliable.

Learnings:
The most significant step was not to handle Puerto Arte as a classic real estate project, but to transform it into a project to develop the orange (creative) economy sector.
This changed the business model completely. The project was no longer in competition with a classic property valuation.
New and international players, partners, financing, etc. became accessible.
