The BlueGate project consists of a campus area, hotel (160 rooms), student residence (300 rooms), commercial
space (supermarket, fitness studio, restaurants), underground car parking, bicycle parking, etc. on a total floor area of approx. 35,000 m2 gross floor area.
Following the insolvency of the previous general contractor (09.2022), my task as the client’s representative was to
continue building the project with a new general contractor, secure the existing rental agreements, and identify and
approach new tenants.
Learnings:
Even though the real estate and construction sector is actually very rational and driven by key figures, costs and
deadlines, I was able to realise once again that it is also a people business. Goals can only be achieved if everyone is involved and the needs of the individual are taken into account.
Another topics are certifications, ESG standards and sustainability, which have also become very important in the property sector.
